When do I need to start planning for college? It's never too early to start thinking about going to college. The classes you take in middle school and high school can affect what classes you take in college, so choose your classes carefully and learn how to study effectively. Admissions requirements vary from college to college, but expect to have your transcript and possibly test scores from the SAT test ready.
