I think it is time to tell everyone about what I have been eating here in Africa. (That seems to be a favorite question.)

We have three meals prepared for us everyday. Breakfast usually consists of toast, porridge, millet (watery porridge), and homemade butter. For lunch we usually eat ugali which is a corn based substance that you ball up in your hands and scoop other food into. We usually eat beef or chicken as well as mangos, avocados, squash, and cucumbers for the main part of lunch. For dinner our cook, Wilfred, usually prepares ugali, beef, bananas, vegetable stew, and peas.

The food is fairly good, but tends to get very repetitive as we eat the same vegetables and fruit every day. There are two restaurants here in Moshi that we frequent. The first is called the Coffee Shop and the other is IndoItaliano which is a mixture of Indian and Italian food. These are a couple of the very few restaurants that serve food other than African.

Soda and hot tea are very popular here, as well as bottled Kilimanjaro water.
