I am in Arusha right now with a few of my friends to see a national soccer match. We just arrived from Moshi on an hour and a half bus ride. I had the chance to sit next to a Tanzanian doctor who spoke perfect English and had gone to university in New York state. I am convinced that it is people like him who should be ruling the government here rather than the leaders they currently have who barely completed secondary school. The man was incredibly intelligent and we had an interesting conversation.

This past week our group went to Mt. Kilimanjaro where we hiked down to a waterfall and then climbed into an old Chagga tribal cave that was used during the tribal wars. The cave was carved out of mud about 20 feet under the ground and we had to crawl on our hands and knees the whole way through. Those with claustrophobia would never have survived because there were bats hiding in each area and there was no way to stand up. It was definitely an incredible experience.

Last night a few of us went to eat at an Indian/Italian restaurant in Moshi and then went out to a local pub/dance club. There are absolutely no lights in the town and walking through the streets proved to be a difficult experience.
