Girlstart Goes National

Thanks to AMD Changing the Game, girls outside of Austin are creating their own games this summer.

I love summertime at Girlstart and this summer marks a historic milestone! Girlstart will serve more girls, paint more picture frames, program more online computer games through 17 weeks of innovated STEM camps.

For the first-time ever, Girlstart has 4 camps running at the same time in 4 different locations; Austin and San Antonio, Texas, San Jose, California, and Loveland, Colorado. Girls across the country are discovering new careers, playing fun games, making friends and realizing that science and technology are fabulous careers. I feel very lucky to be part of this unique program!

A Counselor's Perspective

If I only had one word to describe Girlstart, that word would be: inspirational. Girlstart has been a huge inspiration, not only to me, but also to the campers I have worked with over the last two summers. My favorite things about Girlstart are the programs and the staff that ignite a long-lasting inspiration in everyone. Here, creativity flows freely and I love seeing it highlighted in the campers' work every Friday at Open House. It gets me extremely excited to see the campers proud of their work in STEM.
