  • never give personal information (your real name, your age, your address, or your phone number) to anyone they "meet" on the web.

  • always immediately tell an adult (their parents, a teacher, a mentor) if someone on the Internet asks them for any of the information above.

  • always tell an adult if anything they see or hear on the Internet makes them feel uncomfortable or scared.

  • never download anything from the net without first checking with an adult (their parents, a teacher, a mentor) to make sure that the file contains no "viruses" (bugs that can mess up your computer.)

  • never arrange to meet in person someone they met on the Internet.

  • always practice good netiquette. They never flame (send unfriendly email messages) other people on the net. They never use inappropriate language.
