Christine manages both operations and is an AutoCAD design manager for an electrical company. She even squeezes in creating the website! Find out how she was encouraged to find a job in a career field that doesn't have many women.

What are some of your job responsibilities?
As the Operations Manager I am responsible for running all of the daily office operations. Some include, answering phones, job file management, accounts receivables and payables, etc. As the AutoCAD Designer, I seek clients that are in need of computer aided drafting. I most commonly work with Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Contractors to produce working drawings for all levels of construction. In addition, I'm responsible for the design and upkeep of our company website.

How did you find your current job?
My dad, David Duvall, is the owner of Duvall Electric Company and was looking for an employee to take over all the office operations. I was eager to come and help his company grow.

Did you learn any of your skills from school?
I studied drafting and AutoCAD for two years in high school and earned a Career Passport in Engineering Graphics. I continued my education at Austin Community College and earned an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Graphics with an Architectural Specialty.

What would you tell a girl that was interested in doing what you do?
This field, as most construction, is dominated by men. Don't let that intimidate you. Women can offer so much and need to continue to play an active role in this industry.

What are some of your hobbies?
I have several interests. Some include family, volleyball, music, arts and crafts, and anything outdoors.

2. www.lyricsandsongs.com - I can find the lyrics and music from almost any artist

If you could talk to you when you were 12 years old, what advice would you give yourself?
Learn as much as you can! If you're interested in something, take the time to learn it. You never know what you'll be able to do with that knowledge.
