Aruni S. Gunasegaram Entrepreneur, Professor and Writer Aruni is an entrepreneur, a professor and a writer all rolled into one incredible woman! Find out how she juggles all this and her 2.5 year old son. What are some of your job responsibilities? Promoting new products, mentoring students, grading papers, talking to potential customers, managing development of products, managing funds, interviewing people, writing, etc. How did you find your current job? I created my current job which is President and Co-founder of Babble Soft, LLC. We create software solutions that help make the transition into parenthood a little easier! Did you learn any of your skills from school? Yes, I learned the importance of numbers in a business. I learned how to create a business plan. I learned how to write well. I learned how important it is to network with people who can help you achieve your dreams. What would you tell a girl that was interested in doing what you do? Be persistent, seek help, choose jobs that can help you build your skills, and develop strong communication skills. What are some of your hobbies? I generally don't have much time for hobbies these days because I have a 2.5 year old son. I do like to hang out with friends, start businesses, write, read, sing and I used to ride horses. What is your favorite website? Girlstart.org of course! My next favorite is Babblesoft.com and then Google.com. It can give you so much information to help you achieve your goals. If you could talk to you when you were 12 years old, what advice would you give yourself? Relax and enjoy life. You can't control about 80% of the things that happen to you so just be flexible and have a good attitude and you can deal with pretty much anything that comes your way. Also, trust your instincts…they are usually right.
